I started my career building operations for multinationals. The usual playbook: standardize processes, cut costs, build shared service centers.
But I kept noticing that the leaders I worked with weren’t failing because they didn’t understand their role or complexities of operations. They were failing because:
- The processes underneath them were a mess
- The team wasn’t ready for what was being asked of them
- They were alone: no one to think through the hard stuff with
So I became an executive coach and when coaching conversations kept surfacing the same infrastructure problems, I started fixing those too.
Because you can’t coach someone out of a broken system and you can’t build a system without people ready to run it.
